Church Hill soapstone can best be described as a dark, hard soapstone that has hints of blue and green. The Church Hill soapstone is being reclaimed from a quarry that was closed during the Depression. In the past, this stone was used to make laboratory and chemistry counter tops, fireplaces heaths and mantles, sinks and paving. The story of the Walton's was filmed around and based on people and businesses located in the town where this quarry is located. Many of the towns inhabitants worked in this quarry until it closed during the depression. Parts of the quarry have recently been re-opened. We now have this stone in-stock.

Robot Update

I have the robot up and running, only problem is now is time to practice making things. Hopefully this Winter I can make some different types of things to get a better feel for the software and cutting capabilities. In this video, I am milling the surface of  an Indiana buff limestone newel post using a PCD diamond end mill.

Fireplace Installation

A rare opportunity for me to see a fireplace made by Easy Stone Center installed at a customers home. It seems to look pretty good. They requested a visit to get a quote on us fabricating a range hood out of the same Lueders buff limestone from Texas.
